2018 Gifts in the Gallery Call for Artists

Artistry is a non-profit 501(c)3 arts organization hosting the annual Gifts in the Gallery holiday sale, a boutique-style sale located in the Inez Greenberg Gallery in the Bloomington Center for the Arts, Bloomington, MN. The sale runs December 5-19, 2018. A review panel will jury and select approximately 60 local and regional artists to sell high quality gifts. The kickoff celebration, "A Festive Reception," on December 5 opens the sale with live music, a cash bar, appetizers, and door prizes. Gifts in the Gallery will coincide with other events held in the Bloomington Center for the Arts, including the City of Bloomington's popular indoor Farmer's Market. The 2017 sale had more than 7,000 visits.

Artistry will set up the sale, merchandise all items, and handle all sales transactions including the collection and payment of Minnesota sales tax, retaining 35% of sales. Selected artists are responsible for labeling all items with a vendor number (provided) and price, and for dropping off and picking up inventory on designated dates. Artistry is not responsible or liable for stolen, lost, or damaged merchandise or for merchandise not picked up during designated times.

Applicants must complete an online application with a brief statement (1000 characters or less) describing what you plan to sell, the price range of items, and why your work would be a good fit for the sale. Submit 5 images representative of the work you intend to sell in .jpg format (1200 pixels or greater on the longest side; under 5 MB file size), with a description and retail price for each image. A $15 non-refundable application fee is required, payable online via credit card or by mailing a check to Artistry. Entry Deadline: Friday, August 24 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Acceptance Notification: by 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 14. Delivery of Artwork: Friday, November 30, 1:00-3:00 p.m. or Saturday, December 1, 9:00 a.m.-noon. Pick Up Remaining Work: Wednesday, December 19, 5:00-7:00 p.m. or Thursday, December 20, 9:00 a.m.-noon.
