About This Call
The 2017 UNC Annual Juried Student Show is an exhibition for University of Northern Colorado students. Undergraduate students must be currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours of UNC classes, including a 3-credit School of Art & Design class taken during the 2015-2016 academic year. Graduate and post-baccalaureate students must be currently enrolled in a UNC art class but do not have to meet a minimum credit requirement.
Students may submit up to 3 artworks created within the last year. Accepted media includes computer graphics, graphic design, photo imaging, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, fibers, jewelry, and painting. Submissions must include title, date, size (H x W x D), medium category, price or "Not For Sale" designation, and insurance value. A maximum of 1 video entry per student is allowed and counts toward the total of 3 entries. The submission deadline is April 2, 2017 at midnight MST. Accepted artists will be notified on April 7, 2017.
Accepted artwork must be delivered to Mariani Gallery in Guggenheim Hall on Monday, April 17 or Tuesday, April 18 between 10 am and 4 pm. Two-dimensional works must be appropriately framed and wired for hanging (no saw tooth hangers or clips). Three-dimensional works must be stable and ready for public display. The exhibition runs April 20 - May 5, 2017, with an opening reception on April 20 from 4-6 pm. Artwork pickup is available Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 from 10 am - 4 pm. Cash awards include Best in Show ($450), First Place ($200), Second Place ($150), Third Place ($100), and two Honorable Mentions ($50 each).
