2017 Sheridan Wyoming Juried Sculpture Exhibit

Since 2002, the City of Sheridan has invited artists both in and out of state to participate in its public arts program. Over the past 14 years, Sheridan has acquired over 60 permanent sculptures for parks and downtown areas.

Submissions are due January 8, 2017. The SPAC will jury the work and notify artists by February 1, 2017. All accepted artists are invited to a reception on April 24, 2017. If the reception cannot be attended, accepted work must be delivered to Sheridan between May 1st and June 1st, 2017. You may submit up to five pieces of work. If your work is accepted, the SPAC will pay a $1,000 honorarium per piece. All entries will be considered for the City of Sheridan Mayor's Choice Award and the People's Choice Award, each with a $250 cash prize. Sculptures will be on display from June 1st, 2017 through May 15th, 2018.

Sculptures will be exhibited outdoors and must meet specific requirements: sufficiently durable construction and a minimum height of 16 inches. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate works will not be accepted. As part of the loan agreement, the SPAC will actively market your work while on display. If your sculpture is sold, the SPAC takes a 25% commission. Work samples should include 3 to 6 images, with optional audio (maximum 1) and video (maximum 1) files.
