About This Call
Indiana University East invites sculptors to participate in a juried, on-loan outdoor sculpture exhibit on the Richmond, Indiana campus. The exhibition will run from August 16, 2017 through August 15, 2019. Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2,000 per piece and must enter into an Art Loan Agreement with IUE.
Artists may submit up to two sculptures for consideration. Each submission must include a bio/resume describing exhibition history, 3 images (front, back, and 1 detail), dimensions, and stated insurance value. Artists must own the rights to the artwork and it must be available for the full two-year exhibition period. Sculptures must be ready to set on 8'x8' concrete pads using welded steel tabs or similar easy-install methods. Artwork must be constructed of durable materials to withstand year-round Indiana weather. Fragile or dangerous works will not be accepted.
Selected artists are responsible for transporting artwork to and from the installation site. Delivery must occur between August 1-15, 2017, with artwork exhibition-ready upon arrival. The university will supervise installation and insure the artwork for the duration of the exhibit. Sculptures must be removed within one month prior to August 15, 2019. Jury selections will be announced by July 7, 2017. For questions, contact [email protected].
