2017 NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition

The 2017 NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older. The exhibition will be held October 2–31, 2017 at Blaine City Center, 10801 Town Square Drive NE, Blaine, Minnesota. The entry deadline is midnight, August 1, 2017.

Entry fees are $35 for NorthStar Watermedia Society members or $45 for non-members, with the option to join the society for an additional $35 during entry. Artists may submit up to three paintings, though only one can be selected for the exhibition. Work must be completed after January 1, 2015, and not previously exhibited in an NSWS exhibition. Entries are limited to paintings in watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, and egg tempera on paper, yupo, canvas, canvas board, or board. Work and source material must be wholly original. Maximum size is 52 inches in any direction with a maximum depth of 3 inches; minimum image size is 80 square inches. All work must be suitable for a family audience.

The juror is David Feinberg, an associate professor of drawing and painting at the University of Minnesota. NorthStar Watermedia Society will award a minimum of $4,000 in cash and non-cash prizes, including Best of Show ($1,250), 2nd Place ($1,000), and 3rd Place ($750), plus named awards and additional cash/product awards. Acceptance notification will be sent August 21, 2017. The artist reception and awards ceremony is October 15. NorthStar retains a 25% commission on any artwork sold. All insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
