About This Call
Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF), acting on behalf of the City of Northglenn, invites proposals from artists (individual or teams) to design, fabricate, and install a series of sculptures on four existing sculpture pads for the new Webster Lake Promenade in Northglenn, CO. The successful proposal for the commissioned, site-specific, permanent art installation will include details of the design, fabrication, and installation of artwork. Proposals will be reviewed by site stakeholders including NAHF, Northglenn Urban Renewal Authority, Hawkins Development, and City staff. The winner will be selected by May 2017, with design, fabrication, and installation expected to begin soon after.
The winning artist or team will be awarded up to $100,000 to complete the project. Design, materials, fabrication, installation, and any other costs associated with the project must fit within the $100,000 budget. The selected artist or team will design, fabricate and install sculptures for four pads, each 9'10" diameter circles made of poured concrete. Four light fixtures per pad are installed with electricity, spaced 6'4" across from each other. The existing lighting can be used, changed or removed. There are no height restrictions.
Proposals must include the medium, materials, and application technique to be used to create a durable installation. No hanging sculptures, wooden sculptures, or water features are permitted. Images must be unique and free from copyright restrictions. Submissions must include 3-12 images and up to 1 video. Multiple proposals are allowed; each proposal requires a separate CaFE profile and registration. All proposals will be screened for artistic merit and appropriateness for outdoor display. For additional information, contact Director Michael Stricker at (303) 450-8727 or [email protected]. An additional map and lighting specifications are available by email.
