2017 National Animal Art Juried Exhibition

The Irving Art Association presents the 16th annual National Animal Art Exhibition at Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan Dr, Irving, TX 75061. The exhibition awards $3,000 in prizes.

Artwork must feature any animal species (wildlife or domestic) created from personal photographs or observation. Works must have been completed within the last 2 years and not previously accepted in an IAA National Animal Art Exhibit. Artists may submit up to 3 entries. All artwork must be framed, not exceed 36" x 36", and weigh under 20 lbs. Computer generated and offset printed works are ineligible.

Accepted categories include: Oil Painting, Water Media (watercolor, gouache, acrylic), Mixed Media (collage, calligraphy, encaustics, fabric art, hand-pulled prints), Dry Media/Drawing (pastels, color pencil, graphite, charcoal, inks, scratchboard), and Photography (no professional studio photos). Entry fees are $35 for non-members and $30 for IAA members. Submit entries online through CaFE. Hand delivery of accepted artwork is August 26, 10am-2pm. Artwork pickup is September 30, 10am-2pm. Local artists selected for the show are invited to participate in the optional IAA Traveling Animal Art Show at Irving Arts Center (October 7 – November 26, 2017).
