2017 Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition

Sanchez Art Center invites entries for the 2017 Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition, running April 21 - May 21, 2017, with a gala reception on Friday, April 21, 7–9 pm. The juror is Susan Sayre Batton, Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs at San Jose Museum of Art.

Eligibility is open to all California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska artists age 18 and older working in all fine arts visual media. Artwork shown in prior juried exhibitions at Sanchez Art Center is not eligible. Work must fit through a standard-sized door (80" x 35") and weigh less than 50 lbs. Framed 2D work must be wired (no sawtooth hangers). Artists may enter up to 20 images, with a non-refundable entry fee of $15 per image. Awards include 2 Exhibition Awards ($250 plus an exhibition in 2018) and 2 Merit Awards ($250).

Accepted artists will be notified by 5 pm on Monday, March 13. Shipped work must arrive by 5 pm on Thursday, April 6. Hand-delivery is available Thursday, April 6, 2–8 pm. Artists are encouraged to gallery sit from 1 to 3 pm or 3 to 5 pm for one day (Friday–Sunday) during the show. Sales are encouraged; Sanchez Art Center retains a 30% commission on works sold. Work pickup is Sunday, May 21, 5–7 pm, or Monday, May 22, 10 am–12 pm. A juror's talk is scheduled for Sunday, May 21, 3:30 pm. Entry deadline is Tuesday, February 7, 2017, 11 pm Pacific Standard Time.
