2017 Invitation to Sculptors - Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit

Indiana University East invites artists to participate in a 2017-2019 juried, on-loan outdoor sculpture exhibit on the Richmond, Indiana campus. IUE is a regional campus of Indiana University with a vibrant arts program and extensive art collection. Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2,000 per piece and must enter into an Art Loan Agreement with IUE.

Deadline for submissions is June 30, 2017. The jury will make selections and inform artists by July 7, 2017. Selected sculptures must be delivered between August 1-15, 2017, with the exhibition running from August 16, 2017 to August 15, 2019. Sculptures must be removed within one month of the exhibit's closing.

Artists must own the rights to their artwork and it must be available for the full two-year exhibition period. Artwork must be ready to set on 8'x8' concrete pads using welded steel tabs or similar easy-install methods. Because the exhibit is outdoors and open to the public, fragile or dangerous works will not be accepted. Artwork must be constructed of durable materials that will withstand year-round Indiana weather. Artists are responsible for transportation to and from the installation site; the university will supervise installation and insure the artwork for the duration of the exhibit.

Artists may submit up to two sculptures for consideration, with each submission considered separately. Each submission must include a bio/resume describing exhibition history, 3 images (front, back, and detail), dimensions, and stated insurance value. Submissions are made through café.org.
