About This Call
Artistry is a non-profit 501(C)3 arts organization hosting the annual Gifts in the Gallery holiday sale, a boutique-style sale located in the Inez Greenberg Gallery in the Bloomington Center for the Arts, Bloomington, MN. The sale runs December 6-20, 2017. A review panel will jury and select approximately 60 local and regional artists to sell high quality gifts. The kickoff celebration, "A Festive Reception," on December 6 opens the sale with live music, a cash bar, appetizers, and door prizes. Gifts in the Gallery will coincide with other events held in the Bloomington Center for the Arts, including the City of Bloomington's popular indoor Farmer's Market. The 2016 sale received more than 8,000 visits.
Artistry will set up the sale, merchandise all items, and handle all sales transactions including the collection and payment of Minnesota sales tax. Artistry will retain 35% of sales. Selected artists are responsible for labeling all items with a vendor number (provided) and price, and for dropping off and picking up inventory on specified dates. Artistry is not responsible or liable for stolen, lost, or damaged merchandise.
Applicants must submit a $15 non-refundable application fee, complete an online application with a brief statement (1000 characters or less) describing what you plan to sell, the price range of items, and why your work would be a good fit for the sale, and upload 5 images representative of the work you intend to sell (.jpg format; no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side; 72 ppi/dpi; 3 MB maximum file size). Provide a description and retail price for each image. Entry deadline is Friday, August 18 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Acceptance notification will be sent by 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 15. Artwork delivery is Thursday, November 30, 1:00-6:00 p.m. or Friday, December 1, 9:00 a.m.-noon. Remaining work pickup is Wednesday, December 20, 5:00-7:00 p.m. or Thursday, December 21, 9:00 a.m.-noon.
