2017 Crenson Gallery Solo & Group Show Opportunities

Barrett Art Center seeks solo and group show proposals for exhibitions in the second-floor Crenson Gallery. Four proposals will be selected to exhibit in 2017. The gallery accepts drawing, painting, pastel, printmaking, photography, sculpture, fiber, and mixed-media works, including installation pieces. Proposals may feature contemporary or traditional pieces.

Entry fee is $20 for BAC members and $25 for non-members. Submissions must include a minimum of three and maximum of ten images, along with a statement of purpose as a proposal. Submissions will be reviewed by Ellen Driscoll, Program Director of Studio Arts and Visiting Professor of Sculpture at Bard College. Review criteria include technical and artistic execution, a cohesive body of work or coherent theme, overall artistic merit, and gallery size and structural capacity. Notification of decisions will be sent on or about February 14, 2017, via email.

Selected artists are required to pay a gallery fee of $150 for BAC members or $175 for non-members to support building upkeep. Artists must install their own work; an additional $175 hanging fee applies for those unable to do so. Show dates in 2017 are March 18–April 15, May 27–June 24, July 8–August 12, and November 18–December 22. Artists are encouraged to display works for sale; BAC members receive 75% of the sale price while non-members receive 60%, with Barrett retaining the remainder as commission.
