2017 Courage Kenny Cards Art Search

The 2017 Courage Kenny Cards Art Search is open to all artists, including artists with disabilities. Submissions are accepted in all two-dimensional mediums and styles that fit into one of the designated holiday art categories: Thanksgiving, Symbols of the Season, Winter City Scenes, Religious Christmas, Winter Landscapes, and Winter Wildlife.

Artwork must be original work created by the applicant. Submissions are limited to eight entries per artist. Digital submissions only in JPEG format at 300 dpi with no more than 2100 pixels at the longest dimension. Files must be labeled with the artist's first initial and last name followed by entry number (e.g., j.smith01). Artwork does not have to be for sale, but a high quality scan must be available for reproduction.

Approximately 30 pieces of art are selected each year for reproduction on holiday cards. Selected artists receive a license fee of $400 and nationwide recognition through distribution of more than 300,000 catalogs, promotional pieces, and the Courage Kenny Cards website, which will feature an artist photo, profile, and website link. The artist retains ownership and copyright of the artwork and grants Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the artwork on a Courage Kenny Card for five years. The artist's name, copyright notification, and title appear on the back of each card. Courage Kenny may change the title and/or add a border, design element, or title to create an appropriate marketable holiday card. A panel of judges from the greeting card industry reviews all entries based on theme, artistry, imagination, and marketability. Entry fee is $10.00. Application deadline is February 15, 2017. Notification date is approximately March 15, 2017, with delivery of original artwork or high quality digital image due March 31, 2017.
