2017 Artist in Residence / Sally Centigrade Gallery

Sally Centigrade Art Gallery was founded in 2014 by artist Myah Mazcara and arts writer Scott Bailey as a place to host contemporary art including painting, illustration and sculpture with an emphasis on small size works from the pop surreal movement. The gallery was chosen as Best Lowbrow / Pop Surreal gallery by Westword Magazine in 2016.

Sally Centigrade's visiting artist residency brings new artists to Denver to create work in the Colorado setting and immerse themselves in the Denver art scene. The residency lasts 1-3 months and includes a provided residence and studio space in an urban setting. Artists will be expected to be in the gallery approximately 21 hours per week, providing time to create while also interacting with art patrons. The program includes instruction on writing press releases, promoting shows through local and global media, and running an opening reception. Artists will have the opportunity to display their work as either a pop-up show or full-length show depending on residency length.

The residency accommodates one artist at a time and welcomes companions including children and partners. Resources provided include internet connection, office space, kitchen, and computer access. All applicants receive a personalized response and are automatically submitted to the gallery's submissions-only group art show in 2017 and considered for social media promotion. Entry fee is $25.00. Submit 3-20 images of your work digitally. Selection is by committee.
