2017 Art of Possibility Art Show & Sale

Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute invites artists with disabilities to submit artwork to participate in the 53rd Art of Possibility Art Show & Sale. First created as a way to provide a forum for the creative talents of people with disabilities, the art show offers a unique opportunity for artists to showcase and sell their art as well as a way to promote all of the community based programs of Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.

Eligibility: All artists with a disability causing physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major daily life activities are eligible. All art must be original work created within the past three years and not exceed 36 inches in any one direction or 20 pounds in weight. No unfired clay sculptures or crafts are accepted. Artwork must be for sale at a fair market price not exceeding $2,000. Submissions are limited to two entries per artist. Each entry requires a digital JPEG image and an artist statement that includes information about the artist's disability, interests, experience, techniques, and philosophy.

Art Categories: Graphic, Mixed Media, Oils and Acrylics, Photography, Sculpture, and Watercolor. The show uses a 2-phase jury process: Phase 1 reviews digital images to select work for Phase 2, an in-person jury of original framed art. Artwork selected for Phase 2 must be received by March 31, 2017, either shipped with a paid return label or hand-delivered to Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute (3915 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN 55422) between March 27-30. Awards include a $500 cash award for Best of Show, category awards of $250, $175, $125, and $100, and Encouragement Awards from donors. Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute retains 25% of the selling price. Unsold artwork will be returned or must be picked up by May 25, 2017; artwork not picked up by this date will be donated to the permanent collection.
