About This Call
The 2017 Alexander Rutsch Award and Exhibition for Painting invites submissions from artists. The deadline for additional materials is Wednesday, March 1, 2017, 11:59pm MST (1:59am EST, 12:59am CST, 10:59pm PST). The winner will be notified on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
Submission requirements include twenty-five (25) images of work, including five (5) detail shots showing surface quality. You may include the original five images from the first call if desired. The composition of images (head-on shots, installation views, details, etc.) is entirely up to you. The jury will evaluate submissions with an eye to breadth, content, and creativity to anchor a solo exhibition. Paintings must not exceed 84 x 84 inches. Submitted work must be available for the exhibition, plus time for delivery and installation/de-installation. Artists must also submit a resume and artist statement.
Artwork delivery dates are April 25-27, 2017. The opening reception is Friday, May 5, 2017, 6:30-8:00pm EST. The exhibition runs May 5-June 17, 2017. Artwork will be shipped back to the artist on June 21, 2017.
