About This Call
The League for Innovation Student Art Competition, now in its 32nd year, enables community college students to compete with their peers across North America and showcases a selection of the best work being created by today's community college students. Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio will host this year's national competition.
Eligibility is limited to students currently enrolled in art classes at a League Board Member College. Each member college will nominate 5 artworks by 5 student artists for submission to the national competition. All types of art media are eligible, including 3-D work. Selected artists may submit 1 digital image for 2-D work and 2 digital images for 3-D work. The entry form requires a short (50-words or less) written statement regarding the submitted artwork, which will be published in the exhibition catalog.
Awards include: Best of Show $800, Second Place $350, Third Place $200, and Juror's Choice (3) $100. Certificates of Merit will recognize all students whose works are submitted to the national competition and their artwork will be included in the competition catalog. All national competition entries must be submitted via the CaFÉ online submission manager by Friday, April 13, 2018. Competition jurors are Melanie Edmunds, Dennis Harrington, and Charlene Teters.
