About This Call

Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas is accepting submissions from sculptors for the third installation of Sculpture For All, a biennial outdoor exhibition and competition. Up to ten works will be selected for display on the SFA campus, which includes one of the largest Azalea gardens in the nation. A stipend of up to $1,000 will be awarded to each of the artists chosen, with additional cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.

Size limitations apply: no work can exceed 15 feet in height or weigh more than 1,000 pounds due to equipment limitations. Artists with larger pieces who can provide their own installation equipment should contact Jeffie Brewer at [email protected] for authorization prior to submission. Electronic submission is required through callforentry.org. The non-refundable submission fee is $15 and allows each artist to submit up to three entries. Each submission must include up to three digital photographs in jpeg format showing alternate views, the title, size and materials used, an explanatory statement (approximately 100 words), a short biography (100 words or less in paragraph form), website URL if applicable, and contact information.

Entries must be submitted by midnight on January 28, 2017. Sculpture installation will take place February-March 2017, with an evening reception date to be announced. Artists will be notified no later than January 31, 2017 if their work has been selected. The juror is Dewane Hughes.
