About This Call
108|Contemporary announces a Call for Entries for VisionMakers 2016, a juried exhibition for Oklahoma and regional artists working in 2- and 3-dimensional fine craft. The exhibition will be held at 108|Contemporary in Tulsa's Brady Arts District from October 7 – November 19, 2016.
The exhibition is open to individuals 18 years and older who reside in Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas and are not degree-seeking art students. Media is limited to 2- and 3-dimensional fine craft arts, including glass, fiber, metal, ceramics, and wood. Installation work is encouraged. Work must be original, completed in the last 2 years, and not produced while an art student. Submitted work must be the same as the submitted image.
There will be $10,000 in awards offered. The guest juror is Namita Wiggers, a curator, writer, and museum consultant who is the former Director and Chief Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, Oregon. Entry fee is $35 for members of 108|Contemporary and $45 for nonmembers. Entries should include 1-10 images (72 dpi for submission), a bio or resume, artist statement, contact information, and label information. A catalog will be produced in conjunction with the exhibit. 108|Contemporary will retain a 40% commission on all sales and will insure work from September 22 – November 22, 2016. The artist is responsible for safe delivery, timely pickup, and any damage or loss after the pickup date.
