2016 Solo Exhibition + $1000 | Greater Los Angeles

This call is for a month-long solo exhibition in 2016 at The HUD Gallery in Ventura, California. Dab Art welcomes artists who push their creative boundaries in all mediums and genres. Proposals will be reviewed and selected by Dab Art's curatorial panel. A formal opening reception will be held for the exhibit, including an artist talk.

One artist will be chosen for a solo exhibition and will receive a $1000 cash stipend and two nights local accommodations to coincide with the opening reception. The remaining 9 finalists will be awarded with a group show in 2016 and a $100 cash award. Exhibition dates will be announced in December 2015, and selected artists will be given ample time to prepare their work and make delivery or travel arrangements.

Accepted artwork includes painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, installation, digital art, and all genres and mediums. Artists can submit up to 2 different proposals. Proposals must include an artist bio and/or statement, an updated CV, a written description of the proposed show, and 5-20 images of completed and/or proposed artwork. All work must be original, unsold work with the artist owning sole copyright. 2D works on paper must be framed with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring in good condition. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. For the solo exhibition, Dab Art retains a 35% commission on sales. For group exhibitions, Dab Art does not require commission; artists retain 100% of sales or can use Dab Art's sales service at 15%.
