About This Call
Since 2002, the City of Sheridan has invited artists both in and out of state to participate in its public arts program. Over the past 13 years, Sheridan has acquired over 60 permanent sculptures for parks and downtown areas.
Submissions are due January 31, 2016. The SPAC will jury the work and notify artists by March 1, 2016. Accepted work must be delivered to Sheridan between May 1st and June 1st, 2016. You may submit more than one piece of work. If your work is accepted, the SPAC will pay a $1,000 honorarium per piece. All entries will be considered for the City of Sheridan Mayor's Choice Award and the People's Choice Award, each with a $250 cash prize. Sculptures will be on display from June 1st, 2016 through May 15th, 2017.
Sculptures will be exhibited outdoors and must meet specific requirements: sufficiently durable construction and a minimum height of 16 inches. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate works will not be accepted. As part of the loan agreement with the SPAC, your work will be actively marketed while on display. If your sculpture is sold, the SPAC takes a 25% commission. Submit 3 to 6 images and up to 1 video per artwork. Up to 5 applications are allowed per artist.
