About This Call
The Salad Days Artist-in-Residence at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts is commissioned to produce 500 plates from indigenous earthenware for the Center's annual Salad Days fundraising event, a community festival featuring locally sourced foods that draws hundreds of guests every year.
Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts is a small art residency center located in mid-coast Maine. The selected artist resides at Watershed for four to five months, typically between mid-May and mid-September, producing plates for the following year's Salad Days. During the residency, the Salad Days artist receives housing in a private room, all meals, a large studio, and free materials and firings. The Center provides opportunities for the artist to sell work at events and exhibit in group shows. Salad Days artist plates gain broad exposure through Watershed's print and online publications, as well as local and regional press and advertisements.
To apply, submit 10 images of your work, including at least one image of a plate you have made. Entry fee is $25.00. Application deadline: 2/28/16 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
