About This Call
VALA Eastside and Redmond Town Center invite artists, craftsmen and designers in all categories to submit an application for participation in the 7th Annual Redmond Arts Festival. This three-day outdoor festival will take place July 8-10, 2016 at Redmond Town Center and will feature approximately 65 artist booths, a juried installation of artwork, community art projects, live music and food. The festival will be produced in conjunction with Redmond's annual Derby Days celebration, which features a parade, music, food, activities and has an expected attendance of over 10,000 people.
The Redmond Arts Festival is for artists, craftsmen and designers. All work must be original to the artist or a reproduction of the artist's original work. Reproductions should make up no more than 40% of work for sale (with the exception of printmakers and photographers). Examples of artist-made goods include: 2D & 3D art, sculpture, wearable art, functional arts, fiber and paper art, glass, ceramics/pottery, jewelry, candles, body therapy products, furniture and other home décor. All applying artists must provide their Washington State Business License number (UBI number). Application fee is $20. Booth fee is $175 for standard booths or $225 for premium booths (located in higher traffic areas near food vendors and music). Booth fee includes a 10'x10' booth space but does not include rental of tents, tables or chairs. Additional rentals available: $75 for tent, $10 per table/chair, $40 for electricity (limited availability, first-come, first-served basis with maximum 10amp draw). Load in and set up allowed the evening before or morning of the festival, with vehicle access to booths.
Accepted artists will be eligible to apply to an additional juried installation of 1-2 pieces at the VALA Art Center (July 6 – August 26) at no additional cost. A reception will be held with awards presented by a guest juror. Festival dates and times: Friday, July 8th 10am-8pm, Saturday, July 9th 10am-8pm, Sunday, July 10th 11am-5pm. Submission deadline: April 7, 2016. Acceptance notifications will be emailed May 8 with invoice for payment due May 31. Booth assignments will be emailed June 19. Work sample requirements: 5-10 images. The festival will operate rain or shine. Participants must staff their booth all days of the event (artist attendance not required). No commission is taken on works sold.
