About This Call
The Red Brick Center for the Arts announces the 5th Biennial Juried Art Exhibition. This exhibit is open for submissions from all Roaring Fork Valley based artists living at least 50% of the time in the following cities/towns: Aspen, Basalt, El Jebel, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Redstone, and Marble. Artists must have a mailing address in one of these locations in order to apply. Artists from outside the Roaring Fork Valley who have previously exhibited at the Red Brick Center for the Arts are also welcome to apply.
All mediums are invited to submit. Applicants must choose whether to submit 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional pieces for judging, as artists will be judged separately by these two categories. Artists may only submit one application for either 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional work. Artists must submit three electronic images of work with maximum dimensions of 40" wide and 60" high. For framed pieces, maximum dimensions reflect the framed size. One piece of work from the body of three images may be selected for the exhibit. One piece from a maximum of 60 artists will be selected, and not all artists who apply will be selected for exhibition. The entry fee is $35.00.
The 2016 Biennial will be juried by Gordon Keating, a local gallerist who owns Keating Fine Art in Basalt and specializes in art of the American West, and Mikkel Kelly, Executive Director at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts in Grand Junction. Art may be listed for sale with 20% of any purchases going to The Red Brick as commission. The opening gallery reception is September 1, with exhibit uninstallation and art pick-up on September 29. For questions or alternative submission options, contact The Red Brick at 970-429-2777 or [email protected].
