2016 NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition

The 2016 NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older. The exhibition will be held at Lakeville Area Arts Center, a state-of-the-art gallery, theater, and educational resource center located at 20965 Holyoke Ave. in Lakeville, Minnesota. The juror is Kerry Morgan, director of gallery and exhibition programs at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD).

Artists may submit up to three paintings in watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, and egg tempera on paper, yupo, canvas, canvas board, or board. Work must be wholly original, completed after January 1, 2014, and not previously exhibited in an NSWS exhibition. Minimum image size is 80 square inches; maximum size including frame is 52" in any direction with a maximum depth of 3". All paintings must be framed (except gallery-wrap canvas or cradled Ampersand) and wired for hanging with plexi only—no glass accepted. Entry fee is $45 for non-members or $35 for NorthStar Watermedia Society members, covering up to three images. The entry deadline is August 1, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

NorthStar Watermedia Society will award a minimum of $4,800 in cash and non-cash prizes, including Best of Show ($1,250), 2nd Place ($1,000), 3rd Place ($750), and named awards totaling a minimum of $1,000. Acceptance notification will be sent August 19, with an Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony on October 9. Lakeville Area Arts retains 25% commission on sold artwork and NorthStar retains an additional 10% commission (total 35%). All insurance is the artist's responsibility.
