2016 LA Artcore 2nd Annual Online Competition and Exhibition

LA Artcore announces its 2nd Annual Art Online Juried Competition and Exhibition, open to all artists over 18 years old. The competition seeks outstanding art in any medium completed in the last two years. There is no theme and any subject matter is eligible. LA Artcore Staff and Board Members are not eligible. Past exhibitors should not submit previously exhibited works.

Fifty juror-selected pieces will be exhibited at LA Artcore's Downtown historic gallery in the Los Angeles Brewery complex, one of the oldest and largest art colonies in the world. Accepted mediums include up to five wall-mounted works not exceeding 36" in width, 60" height, 18" in depth and 20 lbs in weight. No video, audio, or free standing sculpture at this time. Entry fee is $35.00. Jurors include Jacki Apple (Visual, Performance, and Media Artist, Writer and Curator, and Professor Emerita, Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA), Tulsa Kinney (Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of Artillery Magazine, Los Angeles, CA), and Peter Shire (Visual Artist, Associated with the Memphis Group of designers).

Cash awards will be given as determined by the jury panel: First Place $1000.00, Second Place $500.00, Third Place $250.00, and Public Favorite (chosen during reception) $100.00. Exhibition dates are 7/1/16 - 7/29/16. Accepted works notification will be provided. If a piece sells, LA Artcore's commission structure is 35% suggested donation to LA Artcore and 65% to the artist.
