About This Call
The James W. Ray Distinguished Artist Award is a $50,000 award given to a Washington State artist of any discipline whose work demonstrates exceptional originality. The award is intended to help advance the creative work of an outstanding artist.
The recipient will be showcased in a Frye Art Museum exhibition and receive individualized professional development support through Artist Trust. Funding is generously provided by the Raynier Institute & Foundation, and administered by Artist Trust as a component of the AT/FAM Consortium.
Artists must be nominated to be eligible for this award. Nominators are selected by Artist Trust with input from the Frye Art Museum. Work samples may include up to 20 images, 3 audio files, and 3 video files (26 total samples maximum).
