About This Call
Collective Visions Gallery announces the Ninth Annual CVG Show, a juried art competition for Photo/digital, Two-dimensional and Three-dimensional art. All Washington State artists are invited to submit work. Over $10,000 in cash and purchase prizes will be awarded for winners in several categories.
Eligibility: All artists must be 18 years of age or older and be a resident of Washington State. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant and executed within the last three years (since 1/1/12) and without the supervision of an instructor. Copies of existing artworks or based on copyrighted artworks are not eligible. A maximum of three entries per artist is permitted. Entry fee is $45.00 with a limit of 3 art works. Submissions must include 1-3 images. Two-dimensional work may not exceed 8 feet in its longest dimension nor weigh more than 75 lbs. Three-dimensional work must fit within a 4 x 4 x 9 foot space and weigh less than 400 lbs. All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. All work must be ready for presentation with appropriate framing and hanging wires. All work must be for sale, and Collective Visions Gallery will retain a 33% commission on all sales.
Entry deadline: 11 pm Monday, November 16, 2015. Notifications to artists on or before December 31, 2015. Hand deliveries accepted 1 to 5 pm Saturday & Sunday, January 16 & 17. Shipped work accepted January 2 through January 16. Exhibition opens Saturday, January 23 with reception, awards ceremony and juror's talk 5 to 7:30 pm at the Admiral Theatre, 515 Pacific Ave., Bremerton. Exhibition closes 6 pm Saturday, February 27. Artists pick up work 1 to 5 pm Sunday, February 28. A $25 charge applies for late pick-ups. Shipped work sent by March 5, 2016. Awards include Best of Show ($1,500), Best of Kitsap Award ($1,000), First/Second/Third prizes in each category ($1,000/$400/$250), People's Choice Award ($300), and Purchase Prize ($3,000). Juror: Leilani Lewis, Director of Communications and Marketing at the Northwest African American Museum in Seattle.
