2016 Courage Kenny Cards Holiday Art Search

Courage Kenny Cards invites artists of all abilities to submit original two-dimensional artwork for the 2016 Holiday Art Search. Submissions are open nationally and must fit into one of five categories: Thanksgiving, Symbols of the Season, Winter City Scenes, Religious Christmas, or Landscapes and Wildlife. Artists may submit up to eight entries. Artwork must be original work created by the applicant and does not need to be for sale, though a high-quality scan must be available for reproduction.

Submissions are digital only in JPEG format at 300 dpi with a maximum of 2100 pixels at the longest dimension. Files must be labeled with the artist's first initial and last name followed by entry number. The entry fee is $10.00 per submission. A panel of judges from the greeting card industry will review all entries based on theme, artistry, imagination, and marketability.

Approximately 30 pieces of art are selected each year for reproduction on holiday cards. Selected artists receive a $400 license fee and nationwide recognition through distribution of more than 300,000 catalogs, promotional pieces, and the Courage Kenny Cards website, which will feature an artist photo, profile, and website link. The artist retains ownership and copyright of the artwork and grants Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the artwork on cards for five years. The artist's name, copyright notification, and artwork title appear on the back of each card. Courage Kenny may modify the title or add design elements to create an appropriate marketable card. Application deadline is January 15, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MST, with notification on March 15, 2016.
