2016 Annual Members Juried Exhibition

Artistry's 40th Annual Members' Juried Art Exhibition runs October 21 – November 25, 2016. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Friday, October 21, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Juror: Teresa Engeltjes, Circa Gallery Director, Minneapolis.

Eligibility: Open to all Artistry members, 18 years or older, who reside in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin. A membership initiated after September 30, 2015 need not be renewed for this competition. Artwork must be original (no prints or reproductions allowed) and ideally completed in the last five years. All visual art media is accepted, including photography, with the exception of film or video. Artwork must be dry, framed, and prepared for hanging. Canvases must be framed or museum wrapped (1 ½" or deeper edge) with painted edges. Works on paper and smearable mediums must be protected under glass or Plexi-glass. Maximum size of 2-D and 3-D work is 50" in any direction (including the frame). Sculpture of excessive weight may require assistance of artist during installation. Any work accepted for exhibition may not be removed until the exhibition is completed.

Submission: Submit one or two digital images in JPEG format (1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi, maximum 5 MB) by September 23, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Entry fee: $15 (non-refundable, regardless of number of pieces submitted). Notification will be emailed by October 3. Selected artwork must be delivered to Artistry on Saturday, October 15, noon-3:00 p.m. (or arrangements made for delivery). Shipped works must be in reusable cartons or crates; artists are responsible for all shipping fees. Exhibition closes Friday, November 25. Artists must pick up artwork Saturday, November 26 between 9:30 a.m. – noon.

Awards: $500 Best of Show, $150 Excellence award in 2-dimensional work, $150 Excellence award in 3-dimensional work, four $75 Merit awards, and four Honorable Mentions. Artistry receives a 25% commission on all sales. Major loss or damage to accepted pieces will be covered by Artistry's insurance for fair market value minus the 25% commission.
