About This Call
The 2016 Annual Juried Exhibition at the David Brower Center addresses America's national parks on the hundredth anniversary of the National Park System. The exhibition invites local artists to respond to the theme through their work, exploring the intersection between art and activism with an emphasis on environmental and social action.
Eligible artists may submit existing works in any media, including wall-mounted objects, video, or temporary performances. Wall-mounted objects must be between 24" and 72" wide and no more than 12" deep. Video will be displayed on wall-mounted monitors and may be looped with other artists' videos; sound may only be experienced with headphones. Temporary performances or happenings may be proposed as part of the exhibition's event programming, occurring within a limited time period. Submissions should include 1-3 work samples (up to 3 images and 1 video). Participating artists will receive a $100 honoraria.
