2016 Annual Artist Review

Artistry (formerly Bloomington Theatre and Art Center) presents approximately eight exhibitions annually in each the Inez Greenberg Gallery and the Atrium Gallery, showcasing artwork in a variety of media and styles.

Emerging and established artists and artist groups residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin who are 18 years or older are invited to submit proposals for the 2018 exhibition program. All proposals must be received by March 31, 2016, and a $10 non-refundable application fee is required. Applicants will be notified by May 31, 2016 of the jury panel's decision.

Proposals are reviewed based on quality of artwork, creativity and originality, technical skills, and overall exhibition proposal. Artists may be combined for a small group show or chosen for a solo exhibition. Proposals must include an artist statement or proposal description of 1000 characters or less, 10 digital artwork samples saved as standard JPEGs (1920 pixels on longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, 3 MB maximum file size), information about each work sample including title, medium, size, and date of completion, and the $10 application fee. An optional resume or biographical summary (two-page maximum) may be included. Resumes/bios are not required for group proposals of three or more artists, but a description of the group or arts organization is required. Artists currently enrolled in an undergraduate level art program are ineligible. Artists who have exhibited in a solo or small group exhibition at Artistry in the past two years are ineligible, though those who have shown in the Annual Members' Juried Art Exhibition are eligible to apply. Artists do not need to be a member of Artistry to propose an exhibition or to exhibit their work once invited.
