2016 Acrylic vs. Oil Challenge - Open Theme Exhibition

Las Laguna Gallery is seeking submissions from oil and acrylic painters for an open theme exhibition designed to explore the differences and similarities between the two mediums. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older working in oil or acrylic painting. All submitted work must be original, unsold, and the artist must own the sole copyright. Accepted work will be exhibited at Las Laguna Gallery from November 3 to November 26, 2016, and all work will be for sale.

Hanging works are limited to 60" height and 36" width including frame and may not exceed 30 lbs. per unit. All work must be framed with professional quality frames, mats, and wiring in good condition. Frames must not have saw-tooth hangers. Las Laguna Gallery will take a 35% commission on sales during the exhibition and 30 days subsequent to the close of the exhibition. Shipping costs and insurance are the responsibility of the artist. A pre-paid return shipping label or air bill is mandatory, and reusable shipping containers only are accepted.

Entry fee is $35 for the first three entries, with additional entries at $5 each. All fees are non-refundable and payable through callforentry.org. Entries must be submitted online by October 9, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Image submissions must be JPEG format, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, and 5 MB maximum file size. Between 1 and 20 images may be submitted. Results will be communicated after October 9, 2016, and accepted artists will be posted on the gallery website after October 12, 2016. For questions, contact [email protected] or 949-667-1803.
