2015 Visions of the Flint Hills Art Benefit & Sale

Buttonwood Art Space will host the annual Visions of the Flint Hills Benefit and Sale to benefit research and preservation of the Flint Hills area of Kansas. The 8,600 acre Konza Prairie and surrounding Flint Hills region contain the largest remaining parcels of Tallgrass prairie that once covered 140 million acres in North America. In 2008, the Tallgrass Prairie was named one of the eight wonders of the State of Kansas.

This juried exhibition features art depicting or derived from the Flint Hills area of Kansas. Open to paintings, photographs, fiber, video, and 3-D works. Categories include: Painting, Photography, 3-D, and Other (flat fiber pieces, drawings, video, and non-traditional works). The exhibit runs from October 2 through November 27, 2015, at Buttonwood Art Space, 3013 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri, 64108. Net proceeds benefit Friends of the Konza Prairie, which promotes educational research and experiences at the Konza Prairie Biological Station.

Entry deadline: August 23, 2015. Entry fee: $25.00 for up to four pieces. All entries must be submitted through CaFE at www.callforentry.org. Juror: Cally Krallman. Awards: $500 Best of Show; $100 First Place in each category. All artwork will be juried on a piece by piece basis. All works will be split 50% to artist and 50% to Friends of Konza Prairie, a 501(c)(3) charity.
