About This Call
The South Westminster Arts Group invites artists to submit sculptures for the 2015 Sculpture on 73rd Avenue Art on Loan Program. This is a public art opportunity open to artists nationally.
Submission Requirements: A $20 entry fee is required per application. Artists may submit up to 3 works per application with a total of 9 images allowed. Sculptures should be garden-sized or larger (at least 3 feet in one dimension recommended) and valued at no more than $30,000. Editions over 50 will not be accepted. Acceptable mediums include metal, stone, ceramic, or any other durable material that will withstand outdoor display. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate work will not be considered. All photos must represent the current condition of the work. Sculptures must be for sale, and SWAG will collect a 20% commission on all sales.
Installation and Display: Pieces must have the capacity to be welded to ¼" steel plate or bolted to a concrete pad. The park contains seven steel pedestals and three concrete pads for sculpture installations. Sculptures will be on display for approximately 1 year from the installation date of November 7, 2015. Artists will be notified 30 days prior to the removal date in 2016. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of their work; shipping must be provided and paid for at the artist's own expense. SWAG and its affiliates will photograph and publish photos and information related to the artwork, and artists will be given recognition. Artists must certify that they have created and possess unencumbered title to the sculpture(s) they are submitting.
