2015 Roslyn Art Festival

The Roslyn Art Festival takes place August 22-23, with the goal of promoting art and artists, encouraging appreciation of Roslyn's historical qualities, and supporting local businesses. The festival features artisan/art booths in the Roslyn Warehouse, a juried show in the gallery of Basecamp Books and Bites, and a Saturday night wine tasting and award reception. Additional festival activities include musicians performing on 2nd Avenue and "TRY-IT" art stations throughout downtown Roslyn. The festival is a project of RTown Community, a non-profit corporation, with proceeds used to plan and promote future art events in Roslyn.

The Roslyn Art Festival Juried Art Show emphasizes fine arts and invites submissions of photographs, two-dimensional and three-dimensional art. Awards will be given in three categories plus a Youth Category for artists ages 12-18. Maximum size for both 2D and 3D work is 36" x 36". Art will be displayed from August 16-29. Works sold during display are charged a 40% commission. The submission fee is $20 for two submissions and $10 for each additional piece. Jurors are nationally known artists with art show judging experience. Adult art will be displayed in downtown Roslyn; youth art will be displayed in the Roslyn Public Library.

The Saturday Night Wine Reception runs 7:00-9:30 p.m. and includes wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres, six tasting tickets, a commemorative wine glass, and local chocolates. Tickets are $35 for the public and $10 for artists in the juried show and artisans with vendor booths. Award winners will be announced that evening. Artisan booth applications are due July 1, 2015, with a $50 booth fee. Booth hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Vendors will be notified by July 15, 2015.
