About This Call

VALA Eastside invites artists, craftsmen and designers in all categories to submit an application for participation in the 6th Annual Redmond Arts Festival at Redmond Town Center. This three-day outdoor festival will take place July 10-12, 2015 and will feature approximately 65 artist booths, a juried installation of artwork, community art projects, live music and food. New for 2015, the festival will be produced in conjunction with Redmond's annual Derby Days celebration at Redmond City Hall that features a parade, music, food, activities and has an expected attendance of over 10,000 people.

The Redmond Arts Festival is for artists, craftsmen and designers. All work included in the festival must be either original to the artist or a reproduction of the artist's original work. Reproductions should make up no more than 40% of work for sale (with the exception of printmakers and photographers). Examples of artist-made goods include: 2D & 3D art, sculpture, wearable art, functional arts, fiber and paper art, glass, ceramics/pottery, jewelry, candles, body therapy products, furniture and other home décor. All applying artists must provide their Washington State Business License number (UBI number).

Application fee is $20. Booth fee of $175 is collected after acceptance into the festival (payable by check). No commission is taken on works sold. The booth fee includes a 10'x10' booth space but does not include rental of tents, tables or chairs. Additional items available for rental include: Tent ($50), Table & Chair ($10 each), and Electricity ($40 for one live plug with maximum 10amp draw). Load in and set up will be allowed the evening before the festival or the morning of the festival, with artists able to drive up to their booths to load and unload vehicles. Festival hours are Friday July 10th 10am-8pm, Saturday July 11th 10am-8pm, and Sunday July 12th 11am-5pm.

Accepted artists will have an additional opportunity to apply to the festival's juried installation of artworks at the VALA Art Center, which will run July 8-26. This opportunity is free to apply. A reception will be held on the evening of July 8th with awards being presented by a guest juror. Submission deadline is April 12, 2015 at 5pm. Acceptance notifications will be emailed April 30, with booth fees due May 31 and booth assignments emailed June 20. Participants must staff their booth with artwork for sale all days of the event (it is not necessary for the artist to be on-site all days).
