2015 NorthStar Watermedia National Exhibition

The 2015 NorthStar Watermedia National Exhibition will be held at Hopkins Center for the Arts, located at 1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins, MN, from September 8 – October 18, 2015. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older. Entry deadline is midnight, July 1, 2015. Entry fees are $45 for non-members and $35 for NorthStar Watermedia Society members, with up to three images accepted per submission. Only one painting per artist may be selected for exhibition.

The exhibition is limited to paintings in watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, and egg tempera on paper, yupo, canvas, canvas board, or board. All work must be original and completed after January 1, 2013. Maximum size including frame is 40" in any direction; minimum image size is 140 square inches. Maximum depth is 2-1/2". Framing is required with white, off-white, or cream mats only. All paintings must be wired for hanging with plexiglass glazing (no glass). Images must be submitted in JPEG format, 72 ppi/dpi, minimum 1920 pixels on the longest side, maximum 5MB file size, with no watermarks or digital enhancement.

Juror and Judge is Jack Richeson, founder of Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. NorthStar Watermedia Society will award over $4,000 in cash and non-cash prizes, including Best of Show $1,250, 2nd Place $1,000, 3rd Place $750, and named awards totaling a minimum of $1,000. An artist reception will be held Sunday, September 13 from 2-4 PM with an awards ceremony at 3 PM. Accepted artists must include a $20 payment with their work and a $60 handling fee applies for shipped works. Hopkins Center for the Arts retains 25% commission on sales, with NorthStar retaining an additional 10% (total 35%). All insurance is the artist's responsibility.
