2015 Left Coast Annual

Sanchez Art Center invites submissions for the 2015 Left Coast Annual, a juried competition open to artists from California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii, age 18 and older. The exhibition runs April 10 - May 17, 2015, with a gala reception on Friday, April 10, 7-9 pm. The juror is Cathy Kimball, Executive Director and Chief Curator of the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art.

Eligibility and Requirements: All fine arts visual media will be considered. Artwork shown in prior juried exhibitions at Sanchez Art Center is not eligible. Work must fit through a standard-sized door (80" x 35") and weigh less than 50 lbs. Framed 2D work must be wired (no sawtooth hangers). Artists may submit 1-20 images and up to 6 videos. Entry fee is $15 per image (non-refundable). Shipped work must arrive by 5 pm on Thursday, April 2. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and must include a prepaid return shipping label.

Awards and Sales: Two Exhibition Awards ($250 plus exhibition in 2016) and two Merit Awards ($250) will be given. Sales are encouraged; Sanchez Art Center retains a 30% commission on works sold. Accepted artists will be notified by 5 pm on Monday, March 9. Work pickup is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 5-7 pm and Monday, May 18, 10 am-12 pm. Sanchez Art Center carries art insurance for damage or theft, subject to a $500 deductible.
