2015 Jax Juried Art Exhibit

The Jacksonville Center for the Arts, a nonprofit community arts center located in Floyd, VA, invites visual media artists to submit work for their annual juried exhibition. The center is housed in a renovated dairy barn with 7 acres of land and multiple outbuildings that serve as workshop studios, private art studios, and business incubators.

Eligibility and Requirements: Open to all artists 18 years of age or older. Work must be original and executed within the past two years. All fine arts and fine craft media are accepted, including painting, sculpture, graphics, ceramics, textiles, mixed media, photography, time-based/new media, and installation. Handicrafts are not eligible. Video, audio, and performing works of art are not accepted. Artists may submit up to three artworks. The entry fee is $40 (or $35 for current Jax members with coupon code JAX). Fees are non-refundable and cover submission of up to three works.

Submission and Timeline: Submit digital images at www.callforentry.org by Friday, June 19th at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notifications will be sent no later than Friday, July 3rd. Shipped work must arrive between Monday, July 20 and Monday, July 27. In-person drop-off dates are Sunday, July 26, 1-3pm and Monday, July 27, 10am-2pm. The exhibition runs July 31 – September 26, 2015, with an opening reception on Saturday, August 8, 5-7pm. Work pickup is Sunday, September 27 and Monday, September 28.

Juror and Prizes: Artwork will be selected by Gina Cavallo Collins, Exhibitions Coordinator at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. Prizes include $500 first place, $300 second place, $100 third place, five honorable mentions, and a $50 post-exhibit people's choice award. Artists must provide return shipping labels; The Jacksonville Center will not pay for return shipping.
