2015 Gifts in the Gallery Call for Artists

Artistry (formerly Bloomington Theatre and Art Center, rebranded July 1, 2015) is seeking approximately 50-60 local and regional artists for its annual Gifts in the Gallery holiday sale. The boutique-style sale will be held in the Inez Greenberg Gallery in the Bloomington Center for the Arts from December 9-23, 2015. A review panel will jury and select artists to sell high quality gifts. The 2014 sale received more than 7,000 visits.

Artistry will set up the sale, merchandise all items, and handle all sales transactions including collecting and payment of Minnesota sales tax. Artistry will retain 35% of sales. The kickoff celebration, "A Festive Reception," opens the sale on Wednesday, December 9, 6-8 p.m., featuring live music, a cash bar, appetizers, and door prizes. Gifts in the Gallery will coincide with other events held in the Bloomington Center for the Arts, including the City of Bloomington's indoor Farmer's Market.

Applicants must submit 10 images representative of the work they intend to sell (.jpg format; no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side; 72 ppi/dpi; 3 MB maximum file size), a brief artist statement (1000 characters or less), and a $15 non-refundable application fee. Acceptance notices will be sent by Friday, September 18. Artwork delivery is Friday, December 4, noon-4 p.m. and Saturday, December 5, 9 a.m.-noon. Remaining work may be picked up December 23, 24, or 28.
