About This Call
Since 2002, the City of Sheridan has invited artists from in and out of state to participate in its public arts program. The city has acquired 59 permanent sculptures for parks and the downtown area over the past 12 years.
Selected sculptures must be delivered to Sheridan between May 1st and June 1st, 2015, and will be on display from June 1st, 2015 through May 15th, 2016. If your work is selected, the SPAC will pay a $500 honorarium per piece. All entries will be considered for the City of Sheridan's Best On-Loan Sculpture Award and the People's Choice Award, each with a $250 cash prize. You may submit more than one piece of work. As part of the loan agreement, the SPAC will actively market your work while on display. If your sculpture is sold, the SPAC's commission is 25%.
Sculptures must be sufficiently durable with a minimum height of 16 inches and will be exhibited outdoors. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate works will not be accepted. Artists will be notified of selections by March 15, 2015.
