About This Call

Collective Visions Gallery announces the Eighth Annual CVG Show, a juried art competition for Photo/digital, Two-dimensional, and Three-dimensional art. All Washington State artists are invited to submit work. The competition will be held at Collective Visions Gallery in Bremerton, Washington, with over $9,500 in cash and purchase awards for winners in several categories.

Eligibility: All artists must be 18 years of age or older and have their primary residence in Washington State. Entries must be original, entirely the work of the entrant, and executed within the last three years (since January 1, 2011) without the supervision of an instructor. Copies of existing artworks are not eligible. Entry fee is $45.00 with a limit of 3 art works per artist (up to two views of each permitted). Two-dimensional work may not exceed 8 feet in its longest dimension nor weigh more than 75 lbs. Three-dimensional work must fit within a 4 x 4 x 8 foot space and weigh less than 400 lbs. All two-dimensional works on paper must be under glass or Plexiglas. All work must be ready for presentation with appropriate framing and hanging wires. All work must be for sale, and Collective Visions Gallery will retain a 33% commission on all sales.

Awards include Best of Show ($1,500), Best of Kitsap Award ($1,000), First Prize in each category ($1,000), Second Prize in each category ($400), Third Prize in each category ($250), People's Choice Award ($300), and a Purchase prize fund ($2,000). The juror is Greg Robinson, executive director and curator of Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. Notification of accepted or non-accepted work will be via email no later than December 31, 2014. The exhibition runs January 24 through February 28, 2015, with artist pickup of work on March 1, 2015 from 1 to 5 p.m. Shipped work will be sent by March 7, 2015.
