About This Call
Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute invites artists with disabilities to submit artwork for the 52nd Annual International Juried Art Show and Sale, Art of Possibilities, running April 30 – May 22. The show provides a forum for artists with disabilities to showcase and sell their art while promoting the community-based programs of Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.
Eligibility: All artists with a disability causing physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major daily life activities are eligible. Artwork must be original work created within the past five years and not exceed 36 inches in any direction or 20 pounds in weight. No unfired clay sculptures or crafts are accepted. Submissions are limited to two entries per artist. Art categories include Graphic, Mixed Media, Oils and Acrylics, Photography, Sculpture, and Watercolor. All artwork must be framed with an attached wire hanging and priced for fair market sale.
Submission Process: Phase 1 requires digital JPEG images for jury review to determine which original framed artwork advances to Phase 2. Phase 2 is an in-person jury of selected original framed art. Artwork selected for Phase 2 may be shipped with a paid return label (postmarked by February 20) or hand-delivered March 11-13, 2015. An artist statement must be submitted with each entry. Awards include a $500 Best of Show award, category awards of $250, $175, $125, and $100, and additional Encouragement Awards. Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute retains 25% of artwork sales. Unsold shipped artwork will be returned; hand-delivered artwork must be picked up by May 29 or will be considered a donation to the institute's permanent collection.
