About This Call
The 2015 Contemporary Northwest Art Awards recognizes professional contemporary artists living in the Northwest (Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming). The awards honor artistic merit and recognize potential in both emerging and established artists.
Nominated artists are invited to submit up to twenty images of work completed within the last five years, which may include up to three videos of no longer than three minutes each. Submissions should also include a resume and a short statement about the work (no longer than 250 words). Artists may optionally submit up to two publications, critical reviews, or other documentation concerning their practice. Materials must be submitted by midnight Mountain Time on July 25, 2014.
Three to six artists will be selected as recipients. Each recipient will receive a $2,000 honorarium and be honored with an exhibition in the Museum's special exhibition galleries, a full-color catalog mailed to an extensive national mailing list, and related museum programming. One artist will be chosen by the Museum's curators and executive director to receive the Arlene Schnitzer Prize in the amount of $10,000. The exhibition is scheduled to open to the public in October 2015. Finalists will be announced in early September. For questions, contact Bonnie Laing-Malcolmson at [email protected] or 503.276.4293.
