About This Call
ArtWorks Northwest is a regional juried art show presented by the Umpqua Valley Arts Association, open to artists from the Pacific Northwest (Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, British Columbia, Western Montana, and Western Wyoming). The show is open to all media except video.
Juror Marie Watt is a nationally known artist working in fibers, printmaking, sculpture, and installation. She has exhibited at the Seattle Art Museum, Missoula Art Museum, Austin Museum of Art, Portland Art Museum, and others. Watt holds an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University School of Art, an AFA in Museum Studies from the Institute of American Indian Art, and a BS in Speech/Communication and Art from Willamette University.
Cash awards include $1,000 for 1st Place, $500 for 2nd Place, $300 for 3rd Place, and $200 for the J. Lynn Peterson – Hundred Valleys Award. Entry fee is $30 for non-members and $25 for UVAA members, covering 1–3 artwork entries. Eligible artists may submit up to 3 entries in all themes and genres. All work must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited at UVAA. Fine art prints (c-prints, digital prints, etchings, lithographs, woodblock, etc.) are eligible if signed, numbered, and in a limited edition of 125 or less. Artwork must fit through a standard 3-foot wide door and weigh less than 50 lbs. All entries must be for sale.
Submission deadline is March 6, 2015 (postmarked). Email notification of acceptance will be sent April 3, 2015. Artwork delivery to UVAA is May 4, 2015. The exhibition runs May 8 – June 28, 2015, with an opening reception on May 8 from 5–7 pm. Artwork pickup/shipping is July 7–8, 2015 from 10 am to 5 pm. UVAA commission rates are 30% for members and 40% for non-members. UVAA will insure accepted work for 60% of its value from arrival until release to the shipping agent. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from UVAA.
