About This Call

Aperture Foundation will host its second open-submission photography exhibition in July 2015. The theme is Black Mirror, curated by Michael Famighetti, editor of Aperture magazine. The exhibition asks photographers to consider the future and engage with questions about what the world has become and is becoming, seeking a wide range of submissions representing diverse subjects and approaches to photography.

Entries will be accepted from Monday, February 9, 2015, until Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 12:00 noon eastern time. Photographers included in the exhibition will be contacted by June 1, 2015. Entrants must be current Aperture Foundation Members through April 10, 2015, or an Aperture magazine print subscriber through the Summer issue #219. Photographs should be contemporary (made within the last five years) and from a single series. Submissions must include 6 to 12 images along with the date created, captions or titles, final exhibition print size, a current resume or 150-word biography, and a statement of up to 250 words about the work. Selected photographers will be responsible for delivering their work to Aperture at their own expense. Photographs selected will be shown unframed and attached to gallery walls with pins or magnets.
