About This Call
The 2015 Alexander Rutsch Award and Exhibition for Painting is a national competition open to painters. Applicants must submit twenty (20) images of work, an artist resume, and an artist statement. You may resubmit up to five (5) original images from previous submissions, with the remaining fifteen (15) being new work. The composition of images (head-on shots, installation views, details, etc.) is at your discretion, though no more than 2-3 detail shots are recommended. Paintings must not exceed 84 x 84 inches. Selected work must be available for exhibition plus time for delivery and installation/de-installation, with dates roughly spanning April 20 through June 30, 2015.
The deadline for submission of additional materials is Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:59pm MST. Winners will be notified on Thursday, February 26, 2015. Artwork delivery dates are April 22-25, 2015, with installation on April 28-29, 2015. The opening reception is Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6:30-8:00pm EST, and the exhibition runs May 1-June 13, 2015.
