About This Call
The Sculpture on 73rd Avenue Art on Loan Program seeks garden-sized or larger sculptures (at least 3 feet in one dimension recommended) for outdoor public display. Sculptures must be valued at no more than $30,000, with editions over 50 not accepted. Acceptable mediums include metal, stone, ceramic, or any other durable material that will withstand outdoor elements and use. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate work will not be considered.
Sculptures must be for sale, and SWAG will collect a 20% commission on all sales. Pieces must have the capacity to be welded to ¼" steel plate for installation on steel pedestal bases. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of their work at the conclusion of the one-year display term, with shipping costs paid by the artist. Sculptures will be on display for one year from the mid-October installation date.
Artists must allow SWAG and its affiliates to photograph and publish photos and information related to their artwork, and will be given recognition. Artists must certify that they have created and possess unencumbered title to the sculpture(s) submitted. Work sample requirements: minimum 2 images, maximum 6 images; minimum 0 videos, maximum 6 videos; total samples minimum 3, maximum 6. National eligibility.
