About This Call

VALA Eastside and Redmond Town Center invite artists, craftsmen and designers in all categories to submit an application for participation in the 5th Annual Redmond Arts Festival. This three-day outdoor festival will take place August 15-17 and will feature approximately 75-100 artist booths, demonstrations, workshops, musical entertainment and food vendors. The festival will be held in the heart of Redmond Town Center on NE 74th Street (closed to vehicle traffic) between 164th Avenue and 166th Avenue.

Application fee is $20. Booth fee of $200 is collected after acceptance into the festival. No commission is taken on works sold. All work included in the festival must be either original to the artist or a reproduction of the artist's original work. Reproductions should make up no more than 40% of work for sale (with the exception of printmakers and photographers). Examples of artist-made goods include: 2D & 3D art, sculpture, wearable art, functional arts, fiber and paper art, glass, ceramics/pottery, jewelry, candles, body therapy products, furniture and other home décor.

Booth fee includes rental and set-up of one white 10'x10' pop-up tent with walls and weights, two six-foot banquet tables and two folding chairs. Additional tables are available for rent at $10 each. A limited amount of power is available on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional $40 charge, providing one live plug with a maximum draw of 15 amps. Load-in is Friday, August 15th between 7am and 9am from the garage behind Eddie Bauers. Takedown begins at 6pm Sunday, August 17th. Artists selected for participation will also be eligible to apply to display 1-2 pieces at the VALA Art Center from August 14-31, with artwork juried by festival organizers and arts professionals. A reception will be held with awards presented by a guest juror. This additional opportunity is free to apply.

Important dates: March 31 - Submission Deadline; April 30 - Acceptance Notifications mailed with invoice; May 31 - Booth Fee Due; July 25 - Booth Assignments Emailed. Festival hours: Friday-Sunday, August 15-17, 10am-6pm. Past attendance has been approximately 10,000 visitors. Participants must staff their booth with artwork for sale all three days of the event. Washington residents must provide a business license number or UBI number to collect state taxes.
