2014 Harnett Biennial of American Prints

The 2014 Harnett Biennial of American Prints is the eleventh competitive national exhibition organized by the University of Richmond Museums. Open to all forms of prints, the exhibition is presented as a celebration and examination of contemporary printmaking by artists throughout the United States. The exhibition will be on view from October 28 to December 12, 2014, in the Joel and Lila Harnett Museum of Art.

The exhibition is open to all artists residing in the United States. Entries must be in the category of printmaking using any traditional and/or experimental techniques and media, including intaglio, relief, planographic, stencil, monotype, and digital processes. Photographs on paper are eligible. Prints must have been completed in the last two years. Giclée reproductions are not allowed. Accepted prints must be framed under plexiglas (no glass allowed) and securely mounted with all necessary hardware attached for hanging. The entry fee is $35.00 and includes 1 to 3 images. Accepted prints may be hand-delivered or shipped prepaid and must arrive at the Museum on or before October 8. Prints will be returned following the exhibition after December 16.

Sales will be encouraged, and a commission of 20% will be collected on all work sold through the exhibition. Several purchase awards will be offered, and selected prints will become part of the collection of the Joel and Lila Harnett Print Study Center. The juror is Mary Fisher, Founder of Mary Fisher Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE) Fund at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
